Who we are
Königin Collections is a curated women's fashion label based in Nairobi and Eldoret, Kenya, founded by Selina Hope Wekesa. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join a drop list or the cosmetics list, with a record of when and how you agreed.
- The messages you send us on WhatsApp or Instagram, and the details you share to complete an order, such as your name, phone number and delivery address.
- If you accept cookies, information about how the site is used, such as pages visited and which post brought you here.
- Basic technical information our server needs to run safely, such as your IP address, kept briefly for security.
Why we use it
- To tell you about new drops and cosmetics, because you asked us to (consent).
- To reserve, deliver and support the pieces you claim (to fulfil our agreement with you).
- To keep the site secure and understand what works, so we can improve it (legitimate interest, and consent for cookies).
Information that leaves Kenya
Some of the services above store information outside Kenya. We choose providers with strong security and contractual safeguards, as the Data Protection Act requires.
How long we keep it
- List emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Order details: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Security logs: a short period, then deleted.
How we protect it
Access is limited to the people who need it, protected by two factor sign in, and every database table has strict access rules. If something ever went wrong, we would contain it, tell the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner within 72 hours, and tell you where the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you may:
- Ask what information we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time.
- Complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).
Children
Our site and lists are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell people on our lists.
